- Notes
- This tartan was designed for Missouri State University to celebrate their lasting legacy and contribute to a long-held tradition of pride. Founded in 1905 in the foothills of the Ozarks Highlands, Missouri State is a public university committed to public affairs. Their fight song is ‘The Scotsman’. The institution's name has changed over the decades reflecting growth from a state teacher's college to Missouri's second largest university. One constant throughout the years are the school’s colours, maroon and white. The tartan idea came from Merchandising and Fashion Design faculty J. Roberts, C. Starr and S. Baily. Collegiate Tartan Apparel designed the tartan and student Dylan Lyle helped merchandise. A campus community vote decided the final design.
